I’m Alex, and I created Big Dewlap originally as a blog to share my journey as an amateur game designer. It started with a focus on board and card games but has shifted to video game development.

That’s me!

My parents said I was playing Nintendo at 2 years old. Video games, computers, and programming have been a significant part of my entire life. Board games are absent from that list because for many years I felt that I had no one to play them with. Meetups, mutual friends, and now my amazing partner have really brought board games to the forefront of my life. They bring me joy, a nice escape from the stress of modern life, and are a special way to connect with people I care about as well as new friends. The several months I have jumped headfirst into video game development, spending my time learning godot and trying to make games I would enjoy playing.

If you live in the greater Boston area, check out my other project, Shelf Life Games, where my partner Aya and I organize board game pop-ups. Our goal is to share what we love so much about board games with others.
